Parallel investigates the psychological and geological duality of landscapes like the estuary, and the relationship of positives and negatives produced when working with film. It presents ethereal amethyst-toned and abstract images, in opposition to the greens and ochres of the natural landscape. Parallel offers twin perspectives of the estuary, displaying its ability to exist in both physical and spiritual spaces.

Parallel is a series of scanned Agfa Clack 120mm negatives and positives. They were taken at the Pakuranga and Wakaaranga reserve branches of the Tamaki estuary in Auckland, New Zealand.
